    The micro miniature man-made satellite which we developed uses the amateur radio communications frequency band of the 144MHz zone in up-link and the 430MHz zone in down-link. Based on a following amateur’s operative plan, we push forward the use of the amateur radio communications mission.

    We are going to implement the ham radio missions side by side with the engineering missions. On weekdays, mainly downlink of the engineering missions’ data is done. The ham radio missions are available on holidays (weekend). But we are going to implement downlink of HK data using CW/FM every day, so it is possible to receive at any time.

    【Preparation of reseption】
    At first it is necessary to have you know some matters to receive an electric wave of the SPROUT, it is necessary to have you prepare to receive an electric wave. You must know the frequency that SPROUT sends, types of radio wave, an operative mode of the SPROUT and the format (grammar). It is radio facilities (including the analysis software) which can communicate with the reception that you must prepare. You will need a ham radio communications qualification to perform uplink.You can receive even a general person in the amateur radio communications qualification not being necessary for down-link,Please take the following pages into account.When you are garbled in Google Chrome, please change the encoding to [Shift_JIS] than "setting" or Please access it in Internet Explorer.

    【QSL card】
    SPROUT applies it with CW, FM packet, SSTV, Digi-talker, Message box,ShutterSSTV, and more. We give QSL card to each mode which had you receive a signal.

    【CW】Degree of difficulty:★
    The transmission functions of HK data (Housekeeping data. The voltage or the temperature that are the basic parameter of the satellite) is put on SPROUT. The CW method is used in all orbiting satellite carrying amateur radios. This is because a decode rate in the earth station is higher than which abnormality method. Because we always carry it out, the CW use can receive it willingly if you know even the direction from orbit information of SPROUT beforehand at the passage time.

    ■Radio equipment:Handy radio machine(It supports 430MHz zone CW), You can receive it with a handmade 435MHz Yagi antenna. The PC is unnecessary only if a direction is identified as the passage time.

    【FM packet】Degree of difficulty:★★
    The SPROUT has a function of downlink of HK data which is the basic parameter of satellite such as temperature, voltage, and so on.The form of FM packet is used to downlink of photo data and sensors’ data, because much larger amount of data can be transmitted than CW. We frequently intend to do FM packet operation.

    【SSTV】Degree of difficulty:★★
    The SPROUT has a function of SSTV (Slow Scan Television) which is a method to transmit image data as sounds. One of the features of SSTV is that if they have a personal computer and radio even if there is no device, such as a TNC, communication is possible.
    SSTV is going to be carried out on Saturday and Sunday. Please utilize free software such as MMSSTV to receive it. As soon as the SPROUT is released into the space from rocket, photography of the earth is made, and the photograph is going to be downlinked in SSTV. On this account, this downlink is the first ham radio operation. The SPROUT has two modes about SSTV downlink. In one mode, photo taken with camera mounted is downlinked. In the other mode, the 14 images which are stored in FEPROM in advance is downlinked. If you collect all of 14 images, we intend to give privilege to you.

    We recommend the software "MMSSTV" for converting sounds into an image. MMSSTV is very popular SSTV software, and it uses a sound card of a personal computer. Anyone can download MMSSTV.Operating environment:Windows XP, Vista, 7, etc.

    【Digi-talker】Degree of difficulty:★
    Digitalker is also going to be carried out on Saturday and Sunday. We set up a radio machine and can hear the voice signal of Digitalker by receiving it with an antenna.
